Cantab Consulting is an independent mining and environmental consultancy founded by Mike Cambridge in 2002 to provide specialist services to the extractive and water industries.
Cantab Consulting provides expert services to the mining, quarrying and water industries based on the expertise of the Principal, Mike Cambridge, who has more than thirty years’ consultancy experience covering a wide range of metalliferous and non-metalliferous mining and quarrying projects internationally. The Company provides specialist expertise in the auditing of mine and quarry projects throughout the world, particularly with regard to the design, construction, operation and closure of waste depositories. In addition, through the Company and its expert associates, due diligence and auditing services covering underground operations and mine planning, surface and groundwater hydrology and environmental assessments are provided. The Company is currently responsible for auditing more than 50 embankment dams for the containment of mineral residues and for water storage, and more than 25 quarries for geotechnical and hydrological compliance. Cantab Consulting has recently been engaged in due diligence and mine permitting studies, reviewing environmental impact assessments, mine plans, mine dewatering and waste disposal proposals for a range of base and precious metal projects. The broad experience of the Company is reflected in its client list, which includes Governmental bodies, the European Commission, statutory authorities, and both large and small mineral companies. The technical skills base of the Company is further reflected in the 40 technical papers on all aspects of mining and dam engineering authored by Mike Cambridge.
